We stopped at this bar for a drink and did not regret it. After a long day of walking the markets of Mexico City, we concluded we earned a cocktail (or two). We stumbled upon Tlecan and asked to stand as it was packed! After ordering a drink, we were quickly served with two delicious cocktails - a spicy marg and a camparini. As soon as a table became available, we were asked to sit down at the bar. We observed the staff making cocktails in most entertaining ways. They were friendly and offered excellent bar snacks, including classic fried grasshopper . The staff were also superb at ensuring we always had a drink, and our glasses of water were full. We didn’t have food there, but looking across at our neighbours, whatever they ordered looked delicious! It’s not too loud, so you can have a chat to the person next to you quite easily. *** Price suggestion is subject to number of cocktails you order!
I’m confident that this is the best mezcal bar on earth. I got two interesting cocktails and the best shot of mezcal I’ve had in years. The place was busy and it had a unique look because there are zero bottles displayed. The lighting and decor added to the vibe. They are great with little details. For example there was a huge bouquet of exotic looking flowers by the sinks in the bathroom. They don’t seem to hold back on anything. Looking forward to going again the next time I’m in Mexico City.
Raul mixing, Alejandra managing bar-back, , and Roberta waiting orders provided us with the best service you can ever expect. The drinks, the music, the environment, were 100%. Better than we could’ve expected. Small place with cool vibe that doesn’t take reservations with original mezcal cocktails and destilados. World’s Top 50 Bar?... 100%!!
I can understand why this is one of the World's Top 50 Bars! Mezcal is not my favorite but we had to give this place a try. Hands down - one of the best cocktails I have ever had!! Reservations are not required. We walked in around 10pm and didn't have trouble getting in. It's standing room only and the music and vibe are definitely popping.
Tlecan is one of the rare “over-hyped” bars that lives up to the hype and doesn’t let it impact the service or vibes. I’ve been to other “world’s best” bars in CDMX and you often pay a price for drinks that isn’t commiserate with the experience. Not only are Tlecan’s drinks inventive, delicious, and reasonably priced, but the staff are also welcoming and friendly—you don’t feel pressured or rushed. Regardless of whether you’re sitting as a couple or standing in a large group, the team here consistently treats customers with respect and prompt assistance. As far as drinks, the tascalate sour was a crowd fave and the Negroni is first rate.
Came here after several people recommended it and I can see what the hype is all about! The cocktails here are amazing and the service is very attentive, despite how crammed this place might get and it definitely gets packed. Overall a good time and a must try if you’re in CDMx
Highly ranked in the worlds best bars. And we think it's for all the right reasons. tlecan has a fun vibe. Not pretentious at all. The service is very very good. The bartenders are serious about their mezcal cocktails. We went multiple times because the drinks and the vibe were just so good. Happy to wait for get in, it's all worth it. Well done to the team at Tlecan. Superb!
We didn’t have a reservation, but since the bar had just opened, we got in right away. The atmosphere was great, and the cocktails were both delicious and unique. I’ve been to other bars in Mexico that made the Top 50 list, but this one is my favorite. The staff provided excellent service as well. Highly recommended!
